This winter, Saints Futsal secured another wildly-successful season. Between the “Red Team” (A-team) going undefeated and “Gray Team” (B-team) playing strongly, the season was filled with highlights on the court.
In addition to a perfect season, the Red Team also won the Valentine Classic at Collegiate School. They were led by captains Jack Bleecher ’25 and Steven Bishara ’25, as well as coaches Coach Mauricio Pava and Coach Craig Foster. During the tournament, the team only allowed one goal through their 4-0 stretch of games.
In terms of the roster’s performance, a number of individuals excelled on both offense and defense, especially Bleecher and Bishara (respectively). Other key contributors included Max Mumford ’25 and Lucas Gordinier ’26.
The Gray Team also capped off a strong season. They were led by freshmen standouts Luke Bleecher ’28 and Adam Bishara ’28. In the words of Sutton Olesen ’26, “Coach Pava has really grown the program into something special,” as illustrated by both of his squads’ standout seasons.
Looking forward, there is lots to be excited about for next season and beyond. The Red Team is retaining much of its roster, looking to repeat another undefeated run. The Gray Team is also set up well, with many younger players who will continue to develop and bolster the program for years to come.
